Mr. Rudy Celeste, shares his thoughts that inspires him to compose the poem, “FILIPINO OVERSEAS PANGAKO SA BAYAN.”

Over the years that I have been an OFW, I observed, compare and contrast with other nationals, also in a foreign land, that we Filipinos are good as individuals but collectively we have issues.  The true spirit of helping one another as isang bansa (one people) needs to be strengthened.  Also Filipinos are spread all over the world, many have acquired citizenship of their host country, yet in their hearts they remain Filipinos who dreamed of a better homeland especially when they return home for vacation and or for good.  Pangko is an OFW pledge of true bayanihan and and an unbroken affection for our homeland.
